January 12 - Begininning at 5:30 PM Rittenhouse Senior Living will present Kellie Butsack discussing "Legal and Financial Planning for Alzheimer's Disease". Kellie is the Associate Director of Programs for the Delaware Valley chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, Berks County Branch. Please RSVP by January 9th @ 800-272-3900. January 17 - Beginning at 10AM we will have Joy Sweeney speaking on "Stroke Awareness" in our activity room here at Rittenhouse Senior Living of Reading. Please RSVP to 610-208-8890. We will serve refreshments following this presentation.

Rittenhouse Senior Living of Reading proudly announces a new program. The Optimum Balance Program- offered in partnership with Patient Care Services. The program is for residents who are at risk for falling or for those who express a fear of falling or feel off balance. The program includes a comprehensive assessment and an individualized treatment plan. The highly trained clinicians provide the care in the comfort of the resident’s home. Rittenhouse Senior Living of Reading is looking for volunteers to help our residents with a variety of things. What gift or talent do YOU see yourself sharing with our residents?
Suggested Volunteer opportunities:
- Help plant small individual gardens and maintain house plants.
- Read to residents that have vision problems, help with writing letters, or give an hour of your time to chat with a resident.
- Conduct group games such as BINGO, card and board games, Wii.
- Help with outside walks and special events.
Volunteers play an important role in the well being of the resident’s life. Making friends even at age 90 is important. Call Rittenhouse at 610-208-8890 and speak with Heather Setley, Activity Director.
